A man fatally shot his wife and then himself in a homicide-suicide at their home in Jamesport Wednesday night, according to Suffolk County Police. 

Edward Crohan, 62, shot and killed his wife, Stephanie Crohan, 63, and then shot himself, according to a police press release. 

Edward Crohan was a retired Southampton Police officer, according to his LinkedIn profile and public pension records on SeeThroughNY; Stephanie Crohan was retired from Suffolk County and also received a pension through the state police and fire retirement system, according to SeeThroughNY.

Police responded to their home at 56 Lagoon Court at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday for a welfare check call and found both dead from gunshot wounds, police said. 

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the incident to call the homicide square at 631-852-6392, police said.
